WIN A GOLF VACATION TO SCOTLAND!!!
VFW announces 2008 National Golf Tournament. Two teams will be going to Scotland to play St. Andrews as well as Carnoustie.
Entry deadline is July 7th.
Each state will be sending two teams to play in
the national finals November 17-18 in Myrtle Beach. State winners will receive a pro-rated travel allowance to help pay for travel to Myrtle Beach, three night’s accommodations in 2-bedroom beachfront condos, tournament golf fees, awards banquet and prizes. You will be playing one round on Golf Digest’s 73rd-rated public course and a second round on a sister course. The two teams that win their flight will win 6-night Scotland trips. State finals begin in August.
This is a 4-man team scramble event (at least 2 players need to be a VFW member) and there will be two flights-low gross for the low-handicap golfers and a random draw flight for the occasional players. So regardless of your golfing skills, everyone has a chance to win the Myrtle Beach and Scotland golf trip. No handicaps are needed. Entry fee is $50 per golfer. Every player will receive a welcome gift package valued at more than $100 plus the opportunity to receive other sponsor-provided prizes and gifts. | STATE COORDINATORS NEEDED FOR 2008 NATIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
Coordinators are needed for each state to facilitate the state qualifying rounds for the 2008 VFW National Golf Tournament. This is a compensated position. The coordinator will receive $2.00 per player. Coordinators who have 50 teams will receive a $100.00 bonus.
Coordinators will have first opportunity to facilitate 2009 event as well. Coordinators may also participate in the national tournament.
Responsibilities include:
- promoting the event at the local level
- answering participant questions
- reserving golf courses
- securing some volunteers
- working with our vendor, Golf Tournament Outfitters on scheduling and coordination of events
