Course setup
Playing yardage of selected courses must be at least 6150 yards and no more than 6600 yards. For those players who will be 66 years old or older before 12/31/2008, they may play up one set of tees. If course has 3 sets of tees, they may play the forward set, as long as forward tees play at least 6150 yards. If course has 4 or more tee boxes, then seniors must play the most forward set of tees that exceed 6150 yards. All other players will play the next longest set of tees, which should be less than 6600 yards. SENIOR GOLFERS WILL PLAY PAR THREE HOLES THAT HAVE A HOLE-IN-ONE CONTEST FROM THE SAME SET OF TEES AS REST OF THE GOLFERS. Ladies of course, may play the forward tees, as long as the course yardage is at least 6000 yards. They must play the Hole in One par threes 15 yards shorter than the non-senior men’s tee length.
Playing rules
All players will tee off on each hole. Team captain will select which tee shot to play second shot from. The player whose tee shot was selected will NOT be able to hit next shot. This rule continues until ball is holed out. So the player whose approach shot was selected to putt from, will NOT be allowed to putt first putt. In other words, after the tee shot only the three players whose previous shot was not selected will hit or putt succeeding shots on each hole.
There are no mulligans and ball must be holed out on each hole. Shots must be played within one club length of selected ball’s position no closer to the hole. Puts are from spot ball is resting. The established rules of golf will apply for all situations, except the previous two. 14-club limit is in effect. The above rules are in effect to help keep as level a playing field as possible and make this event more of a team competition. This should also keep rounds less than 4 ½ hours to facilitate double-shotgun events and travel to and from the event.
